Camping at SM

Whilst first timers are probably shocked that there are so many pastures green at the Kings Hall, they fill up fast. In fact we even have had to arrange a 'Quiet' site 2 minutes walk from the complex. So if you aren't 'quiet', book early!

Here are a few other rules of engagement to stop any last minute bun fights - you'd be amazed at the damage you can cause with an airbed!

Please book early, to be sure of your camping space at this year’s Festival. We will be enforcing very strict guidelines on how tents are pitched to ensure maximum camping area and the best safety standards possible.

  • Estimate the number of tents you will be bringing as accurately as possible, you will be issued a ticket for each tent booked. Any tent without a ‘tent ticket’ will not be allowed to pitch.

  • When you arrive on site to camp, you must first check in with admin and then find a ‘sub-camp’ rep. to locate a good place to pitch.

  • Each tent must display the ‘tent ticket’ you have been issued – with out this you may be asked to remove the tent altogether..

  • Absolutely no cooking is allowed in small tents or confined spaces.

  • Groups that bring a ‘cook tent’ must meticulously observe the following precautions:

    • Cook tents must have a cordon of at least 3 metres from other tents

    • You must bring a fire blanket or extinguisher for each cook tent.

    • There will be no cooking allowed after 10pm each evening.

Increased numbers at the Festival each year has put more pressure on the general infrastructure in the sub-camps but with your co-operation we will be able to accommodate everyone!
